Mirah has been making sweet, orchestral pop songs for over ten years now, and to celebrate, she recently released a retrospective collection of b-sides and rarities entitled The Old Days Feeling, her 12th LP in eleven years. The new release features early collaborations with many famous friends from the K Records and Pacific Northwest scenes where her musical career took root, including long-time collaborator/producer Phil Elverum of the Microphones and Mt. Eerie, Doug Marsch of Built to Spill, Calvin Johnson and Dub Narcotic. The album reminds her listeners of her days of low-fi, quirky love songs, more akin to her stripped down performance style than her more recent ventures into complex, sophisticated orchestration in collaborative albums with the Black Cat Orchestra and Spectratone International. Her performances are simple, but unforgettable, relying heavily on her gorgeous vocal delivery and intimate guitar work.
